  1. Hi Vickie,
How did you embed your video into your blog? I only get a URL in TeacherTube.

  3. What a wonderful job. Great way of explaining the challenges that adults face and ways of possible goals to motivate adults to continue their learning. Majority of adults are attending schools to either advance their education or for job requirements, but do you feel that adults who have no college experience should jump straight into an online program? What about hybrid programs?

    Once again great job.

  4. Thank you.

I think that it would be best to take a couple of classes online at the local community college to get a feel of what it would be like. After that then decide what would be best for them.

  5. Great Job! Your pictures are really clear. Have you seen an increase in adult learners? Do you feel they are having a harder time adjusting?

  6. I enjoyed your presentation. You did a great job introducing the speaker. I definitely think we will continue to see an increase in the number of adult learners. Especially with all the opportunities for diploma and degrees out there. You talked about hybrid programs; Are they like compressed video classes. The instructor is at the main campus and the students are at a remote location.

  7. Vickie,
I enjoyed your informative video! I liked how you started your video in regard to the conference setting, then went into specifics about adult learners, and finally introducing the key note speaker. One suggestion I would give is perhaps using a program that would create screen casts, which basically take a picture of your computer screen while you are working. I used a free 30-day trial program from Camtasia to create my screen casts. Otherwise I thought your video was very informative and your talking sections flowed very smooth and were easy to understand. Well done!

  8. Hi Vicki,
I really enjoyed your presentation. I loved how you used as few words as possible which gave your video a smoother flow. It reminded me of the presentation videos I normally watch at workshops. I liked the pictures and the effects you chose for your transitions. Keep up the good work.

I have seen a great increase in adult learners. Once they learn how to use a computer, its function and realize they can't break it; they become comfortable and they go on and take more classes to improve their skills.

I have also found out that many know how to use the Internet and emails, but do not know how to use any of their programs on the computer or what they are there for. When the class is over we make sure they know what they have and how to use them.

Hybrid programs are classes that are taught online and in the classroom because there are some skills that cannot be taught online. A good example would be Criminal Justice because they have to learn how to use a firearm. Another is nursing, they have to learn how to take blood pressure, read pulse or give shots.

  11. I liked how you sold your program. The presentation was informative and reflected the work you put into it. It was a nice introduction for the conference.

  12. I liked how you used pictures and video of your surrounding area and I thought it was a nice touch to throw in the books we are currently using this term. I think as adults we are a little more motivated to go back to school, even if the motivation may be money or a better job position.
