The network has changed the way that I learn is by seeing all of the different technologies just because you are use to one in particular and you are comfortable with it, there is another that can do a better job and you cannot be "afraid" to change. The tool that best facilitae learning for me is the discussion board. The feedback help open your eyes to something that you have not thought of. You learn new knowledge when you have questions by doing research and asking questions from those that are in that field.

ReplyDeleteThe role that connectivism plays in the digital world is that we are always connected to our network. The world of information is changing so fast that one has to structure a network suitable to his or her learning style. One can have formal and informal networks. According to Siemens’ theory, learning occurs primarily in network structures, which are not entirely under the control of the individual.

The networks has changed the way we all learn. Especially this generation. They have access to information through so many networks. The world we now live in is smaller because of these conscious and unconscious networks. My hope is that present and future educators, consider the role connectivism plays in the learning process and adapt the theory to their instructional development and materials to better control what the students learn and how they use information. Information for information sake is not always a formula for effective learning.
